Meet Blue

Here’s what his foster has to say:

Blue is a sweet, handsome 19-pound pup who has had a tough journey but is ready for his forever home. He was originally adopted from us as a puppy but sadly ended up surrendered to a shelter instead of being returned. Shelters can be a scary place for any dog, and Blue was no exception - he was terrified, shut down, and wouldn’t eat. Thankfully, we were contacted and immediately brought him back into foster care, where he’s now learning to feel safe again.

What we’ve learned about Blue:

• He wasn’t properly potty trained in his first home, but he’s working hard on it now and making progress (with the occasional slip).

• He is crate trained, leash trained and does well with other dogs and cats - though he isn’t much of a “player,” he coexists peacefully.

• Blue loves kids and even has a special bond with “grandpa,” often curling up beside him.

• He has a big doggie head on a small body, which makes him extra unique and adorable.

Because of his shelter trauma, Blue has developed some quirks. He found a safe space in a bedroom at his foster home and can “guard” it at times - something he’s slowly learning to let go of. If he feels scared, he may nip, especially if someone grabs for his collar or tries to pick him up. He has never bitten, but he needs someone who will respect his boundaries and help him keep building trust.

The right home for Blue:
Blue needs an experienced owner who will be patient yet consistent. Someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to continue his training and confidence-building. With the right person, Blue has so much love to give - he just needs someone to save him for good this time.

Blue is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet the person who will finally give him the forever home he deserves.
